NEWBORNS

KIND WORDS

“We booked a newborn shoot with Baby Love Photography which was well organised with plenty of advice of what to bring/wear. Emily was fantastic with both my three-year-old and my newborn – she was extremely patient and made the session fun and relaxed.

The photos she has captured are stunning and mean the world to us and I look forward to Emily capturing more beautiful photos as my children grow up!”

Congratulations! You’re either pregnant and expecting a little one sometime soon or you’ve recently given birth to a tiny bundle of joy and are wanting some photographs of them while they’re still all new and snuggly.

As a mum myself, I really cannot emphasise how special it is to capture your baby during the newborn stage. I know it’s a cliché, but they really do grow up and change so quickly – in just the blink of an eye they’ll be hitting milestones such as sitting, walking and talking and those early days will seem but a distant memory.

Newborn photographs will act as a reminder of how tiny your baby once was and of all those little details that make him or her unique: their delicate fingers; fluttering eyelashes; their chubby cheeks; the little milk bubbles that gather on their lips; windy smiles; and those gorgeous yawns and stretches that make your heart skip a beat.

As a specialist newborn photographer, I am fully trained in the art of newborn photography and take great care to ensure babies are posed safely and securely.

My garden studio, located at my period property in Fleet, Hampshire, is fully equipped with a comfy sofa for you to relax on during the shoot and heating to keep you and your baby nice and toasty warm – my aim is to recreate the feeling of being in the womb and I do so by keeping the temperature at around 27 degrees and playing white noise to keep baby calm and content. I have a wide selection of blankets, backdrops and props available to you to use during the shoot and am more than happy to offer advice as to which colours/styles suit baby’s skin tone, facial features etc when you arrive. My newborn photoshoots last up to four hours, allowing plenty of time to feed, settle and pose baby. Patience is a necessity as a newborn photographer and trust me when I say I have an abundance of it – for other people’s children anyway (less for my own)!

CHECK OUT THE GALLERY

Emily took some absolutely beautiful photos of our baby boy. She was so lovely and sweet with him during the photoshoot. She was also very understanding when we had to stay in hospital longer than expected and she kept our slot even though we might not have made it. Fortunately for us we did, and we are incredibly pleased with our photos!

NEWBORN GALLERY

General guidance is that newborn photoshoots should take place within the first 14 days while babies are still super sleepy and snuggly. If you book in for a newborn photoshoot while pregnant, I will pop your due date in my diary and then ask you to get in touch once your little one is here so we can get an exact date for the shoot booked in – ideally within those first two weeks. I can only take on a set number of newborns per month so the more notice you can give me, the better – any time from the 20 week scan is perfect!

However, if you’ve already had your baby and are either getting close to, or have already passed, the two week mark, please don’t panic! I have successfully photographed newborns up to five weeks old and have a full repertoire of poses up my sleeve – some of which are perfectly suited to the slightly older/bigger babies.

During my newborn photoshoots, the main focus is of course your new arrival. However, siblings are more than welcome at the shoot and as part of the session I will also aim to capture some photos of your children together as well as some parent/family shots should you require – so get practising those cuddles!

So whether you’re still growing your little bundle in your tummy or have recently introduced him/her to the world, please get in touch so we can get you booked in for your newborn photoshoot. I promise you, there’s really nothing like it and you truly will cherish the photographs forever……they’re also great for pulling out at 18th birthday parties!
